Seafood Global Expo - Barcelona

Seafood Expo Global is the world's largest trade fair dedicated to seafood products and processing. The Port of Algeciras participates to reinforce its position as a primary reefer logistics hub for importing and distributing chilled and frozen seafood across Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

Business context

The mission, in detail.

Seafood Expo Global brings together key players from the international seafood, processing, and cold chain industries annually in Barcelona. For the Port of Algeciras Bay and the Straits' logistics community, this event serves as a strategic platform to showcase inspection facilities, cold storage capacity, and direct maritime connections with major global fishing grounds and markets.

This trade mission targets logistics operators, freight forwarders, temperature-controlled transport providers, reefer terminals, and port services specializing in cold chain management. Participating alongside the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay enables local companies to network directly with seafood importers, exporters, and distributors. The main objective is to optimize seafood import routes from West Africa and Latin America, delivering swift customs clearance and high standards of food safety for distribution across the European market.
